WHERE TO EAT

No doubt you've got your favorite sources for where to eat in a new city, but here are some places we really enjoy. Hours vary so please call to verify they are open before you go. This list is not comprehensive. Feel free to ask us for more recommendations! You might also want to look over the Tucson Weekly "Best Of" section, though I think they often miss the mark.

If you prefer to eat in, we have listed grocery stores on our SHOPPING page.

OMFG! This place is phenomenally good. You don't have to be vegan to love this place. THEIR FOOD IS AMAZING. Located on the south-east corner of 6th St. and Tucson Blvd. Check the website or call for dates and times - they close on the early side.

Welcome Diner - American Food - B,L&D - (520) 622-5100

UPDATE: The past couple of times we have been here have been less than stellar. The service was great but the food was just so-so. It's still a cool late-night hang spot though. Located on Broadway, just east of downtown, in the classic diner that once was Chaffin's.

Seis - Tacos & Burritos - B,L&D - (520) 622-2002

Really fine tacos and lovely courtyard seating, surrounded by local, upscale shops you can wander for at least an hour. Seis is located west of downtown in the Mercado San Augustine.

Falora Pizza - Pizza and Salad - D - (520) 325-9988

Tasty little wood-fired pizzas and a nice selection of salads. Sparse but thoughtful interior, cozy atmosphere and outside dining - a pleasantly warm and breezy evening makes up for sitting right on a busy road. Bonus is that it's close to La Casita Serena.

St. Mary's - Mexican Food - B,L&D - (520) 884-1629

It's all about the tortillas. Anything wrapped in their silky paper-thin flour tortillas transforms into a bite of heaven. They make a mean veggie burrito. Time your visit to buy tortillas to take home with you!
